We are a small team of talented professionals with a wide range of skills and experience. In our opinion, Johnson Ranch horses offer you the opportunity to own a horse that can take your riding and horsemanship to the next level.
We love what we do, and we do it with passion. We look forward to working with you.
We have a wonderful herd of 2023 colts that have been halter broke and handled right. They were turned out on pasture in the summer of 2024 after being in our weaning program. We believe in letting them grow up and think on their new knowledge, so when they come back, they are mentally ready to jump into being started.

Starbert Zan It “Dulce”
2021 Brown Mare, 14.2 hands
A great prospect, Dulce has been great to be around from day one. This mare has been all over the mountains the summer of 2024, started on the hot heels, and seems to learn quickly. Meet you out in the pasture, easy to be around, friendly as they come. Ready to go on with her career, her full sister has been an easy heel horse to progress with her owners.

Mr Stylish Doc “Yukon”
2021 Palomino Gelding, 15.1 hands
Yukon is the last to a long line of this cross, and we have enjoyed getting him going. There’s a lot of potential in him, and he’s coming along nicely on the heel side right now. Yukon should be able to make a head horse as well, and we have no doubt he is a performance horse.

Driftin Fire “Martha”
2020 Bay Mare, 15.2 hands
An absolute athlete of a mare, Martha has the makings to be a top notch head horse. She has been lightly started on the head side, and showing all the ability to succeed early on in her training. Her half brother (Driftin Last Jaguar, 2018 gelding) has been a jam up head horse, and we have high hopes for this mare to be as good as him.

Stylish Dream Gal “Merlot”
2020 Bay Mare, 15.1 hands
A full sister to numerous successful head and heel horses, this mare is showing the ability to be another jam up rope horse. Merlot has been just as easy to start as her siblings, and taking to the heel side like a dream. She’s roped cattle in the mountains, and nothing seems to bother her. She’s the same every time you step on, no matter the time off. It won’t take much for Merlot to be ready to go to jackpots and have fun on!

Vaqueros Fancy Badge “Fancy”
2020 Grey Mare, 15.2 hands
This is the kind of mare that gets noticed wherever she goes. Fancy is super soft and aims to please every time you saddle up. Drug calves to the fire, long days in the mountains, she makes any job fun. She’s headed 30-40 steers, and showing a lot of athleticism and try. Fancy has tons of potential as a head horse, and is getting better every steer.

My Stylish Charm “Yuma”
2018 Palomino Mare, 14.3 hands
Palominos don’t come this color every day. She’s a home raised gem, a 3/4 sister to the horse that Clay took to the pay window in 2021 for over $60,000 total. She has been ridden outside in the pasture and the mountains, and been to brandings dragging calves. There’s not much this mare hasn’t seen, and she’s never said no. Yuma has been to Arizona and Vegas, made the short go in the Finale on the heel side in the 11, and is easy to be around. Her papers are nothing to forget about, with Two Eyed Red Buck, Drifts Chip, Playin Stylish all there.

Driftin Last Jaguar “Cadillac”
2018 Red Roan Gelding, 15.3 hands
If you’re looking for a big soggy red roan gelding with athleticism, here he is. Doctored cattle on the mountain, drug calves, dependable. This is the kind that’ll take you to the pay window if you can head, and he’ll stay solid all day long. He’s been to jackpots all over New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona, and is the kind everyone looks for. Has a resume longer than his tail.

Stylish Drift “Ollie”
2019 Sorrel Gelding, 15.2 hands
Head and heel horse, been to a handful of jackpots and ready to get seasoned. There’s nothing he hasn’t done, from dragging calves to the fire, doctor cattle in the mountains, then haul him to the roping. He’s all there, big motor and a big face, Ollie is a high caliber horse for anyone who wants to go to the pay window in a high number roping.

Drifts Snowflake “Mauve”
2020 Bay Roan Mare, 14.3 hands
Stout and fun to ride, Mauve is a great young mare. She’s big bodied, and takes up your leg really nicely. She has gathered cattle in the mountain, and knows a wet saddle pad. Mauve has headed 50-60 steers, and also has a nice start heeling, she’s ready to go on with and have a career. Easy to be around and easy on the eyes.

RT Happy Drift Chip “Maiz”
2018 Grullo Roan Mare, 14.3 hands
Maiz has impressed us from the beginning in our program. She has dragged calves to the fire, roped outside, and ridden in the mountains. She made the short go on the head side during her first trip to Arizona, and has been to the pay window multiple times on the heel side. Maiz is cowy and has natural athleticism, and shown she is always aiming to please. She will be successful wherever she goes. She’s a granddaughter to the great Pat Cowan and her dam goes back to Plenty Happy and Figure Four Three.
